When the whole school got there, I had to go to my first event which was eight year old boys free-style width. When I looked at the water, it was saying, “Come in , come in. I am as cold as an ice block. I will cool you down.” I was nervous. Mr Emms blew the whistle really loudly and we jumped into the water. It was ice cold when I got in. Mr Emms blew the whistle again. We were off! I was coming third but then I got bumped and I came fourth. I felt really good and the water said, ”Good job, Xavier.”
Well done, Xavier. You have written your recount very clearly. I love the way you have written how it was like the water inviting you in, 'Come in. I am as cold as an ice block.'
