A Wonderful Day At The Zoo

9/12/14 A Wonderful Day at the Zoo Xavier
bird.jpgIt was a sunny morning. My whole class was going to the zoo because we got all the marbles in the jar and, if we got all the marbles in the jar our whole class would go to the zoo. I went with Joshua, Devyn, Jayden and Bill.

When we got there, I saw the birds they were furry and white and they were flapping around and trying to poke our fingers then the zoo keeper went in and fed them and patted them. Devyn said ,”Don’t let them eat your fingers.”

Then we carried on and I had do this answer sheet and it was white and black and, at the same time, we looked at the animals.

Next we went to the monkeys enclosure and the monkeys looked furry and brown. They were swinging around. They had a fight and then Devyn said,”there is a big mouse down there.”I looked at the mouse. It was huge. I thought that it was a possum.

Finally, we went to the Education classroom. It had tiger fur on the wall and dead crocodiles. Also there were bones from cows or deers and some animals that have become extinct and peacocks’ feathers. I thought that it was kinda cool but very sad for the animals. An education teacher told us how many animals are in the world and, after we had a chance to go around the classroom. There was a very hard plastic box that was clawed by the tiger.

Next ,we had to go back to school but Bill said,”You can have an ice block. Joshua, Jayden and I got the same thing but Devyn got a ice block.

Sunny Side Zoo

tigger.jpgIt was a sunny afternoon. It was nearly time to go but Bob was thirsty so he asked his mum if he could buy a drink and stand next to the tiger cage. Mum said,”Ahhh ok”,so Bob went to buy a drink then he went to the tiger cage and drunk it. While he watched the tiger walk around, he was tapping the hard window but he dropped his drink. He started to reach for it but he bumped the window and it made a crack. The tiger got angry so it ran to where the noise was coming from. It found the noise so the tiger ran at the window and smashed it. Everyone ran away, screaming. Bob was the last one to run away from the tiger. The tiger was trying to climb out. It went around looking for food. When Bob got to where his mum was, he told her, "I accidentally made the tiger break the window." Mum said, ”What!”She told the zoo keepers that the tiger had escaped. The zoo keepers made sure that everyone was back at the start. When everyone got to the entrance of the zoo, the zoo keepers put traps in every place that the tiger could come through. They waited. It finally came and everyone saw it running. It ran but it the couldn't get out so the zoo keepers got something to get it back to its cage. Bob's mum said,”Next time we come to the zoo, you're not allowed to stand next to the tigers cage and have a drink,” so they went to their car and drove off home.

Fireworks Night

On Friday , I was going to put on some fireworks and a bonfire. We were also putting on some sparklers. Jayden and Joshua came as well and everyone had to wait for a while. Heaps of people, came and, before that, Joshua, Jayden and I were on Joshua's ipad and they started to fight a lot for how much minutes we had. I just said, "I'm not in this." I walked away to watch Lucian because he was playing on the Play Station three.

It was finally time to have a bonfire. I was excited. Everyone got a chair and a stick. The sticks were for the fire. People started to put their sticks in and pretended that they had a torch.

While we had a bonfire, my dad lit the fireworks. They shot up like crazy. They scattered everywhere. Some people and I got a fright. They sparkled brightly. After that, we got sparklers. They lasted for about thirty seconds. I didn't like them but my dad was still lighting the fireworks.

After that, everyone left, but Jayden and Joshua were the only ones who stayed the night. We stayed up until four in the morning. Joshua went to sleep at one in the morning.

I can't wait for another Guy Fawkes night.

Exploding Birthday

On Saturday night, we let off some fireworks on the field.
When we got to the fireworks, the box was already opened and there were heaps of fireworks.
Next, we lit them and there was a remote control to it. Next, we pressed a button then the fireworks shot up like crazy. They exploded in the cold air and they were so loud I felt like I would be death after that. They shot very fast in the air and they sparkled very brightly. Some people got a fright and the fireworks started to change colour and scattered everywhere and they got brighter and brighter.
I can’t wait for some more fireworks. I hope we will have some more later.

Easter

On Easter Sunday, I woke up and ran fast to the mini kitchen and grabbed my awesome Easter bucket.
After that, I asked Mum if I could go and find the eggs and Mum said, "No."
I waited for about two hours until Mum said, "You're allowed to find the Easter Eggs now."
We ran very fast around the big backyard. There were about four in each pile. I found a lot of Easter Eggs and Mum gave us a huge Chocolate Bunny.
Next, I went inside and opened the door loudly and ate some of my Easter Eggs.

Holy Thursday Liturgy

Holy Thursday Liturgy

It was now the time of Passover. Jesus’ followers came to Him and said, “We will go and prepare everything for the Passover Feast. Where do you want to eat the feast?” Jesus answered, “Go into the city. A man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him. He will go into a house. Tell the owner of the house, “The teacher wants you to prepare the room for the Passover meal.” So the followers left and went into the city and prepared the Passover Feast.
In the evening, Jesus went to that house with the twelve. While they were eating, Jesus took the bread and gave God thanks and praise. He broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said: “Take this, all of you, and eat it; this is my body which will be given up for you.”

When supper was ended, he took the cup. Again he gave God thanks and praise, gave the cup to his disciples, and said: “Take this, all of you, and drink from it; this is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlasting covenant. It will be shed for you and for all so that sins may be forgiven. Do this in memory of me.”

After some time, Jesus got up from the table and went to a different part of the room.  He put a large towel around him, making himself look like a servant.  After that, he poured water into a large bowl and began to wash the disciples' feet.  He then dried them with the towel that was wrapped around Him.

When Jesus had finished washing all of the disciples’ feet, he returned to the table.  "Do you understand what I have done for you?"  Jesus asked them.
Jesus is like a King - but even greater than a king, He's the King of Kings!  By washing the disciples’ feet, He was doing something that only a servant would do.
This is an example of how you should treat others.  You don't have to actually wash other people's feet, but do kind things to others and act like a servant for Jesus.

Live Simply Day

Today is Live Simply Day. We live a Live Simply Day so that we can stand in solidarity with the poor people in our world. To live simply means to only eat fruit and rice. Also, to not have technology like computers, ipads and laptops, and to not use pens, only pencils.

Hot Air Balloon

Today the whole school and I went down to the field for a ride in the hot air balloon. The hot air balloon was called Wildfire and everyone was allowed to have a ride on it. The balloon was red, orange, yellow and there was a little word on the side. The hot air balloon was also very big. The hot air balloon sounded like flames. It also sounded like thunder.
Everyone lined up waiting for their turn. There was a squished penguin under the basket. Nearly everyone in the school went in the hot air balloon and some people looked excited and some people looked nervous. When some kids went in some of them were nervous and some of them were confident but they had a lot of fun. Some people held the ropes to keep the hot air balloon down.
After it finished, they tried to get the hot air balloon down.

Honey Bees

What I found out: Bees put the nectar in the hexagon, then it dries up and wax goes all over it. The bees take the wax off and it has turned into honey.
